We help asset owners and managers decode complex data, benchmark strategies, and forecast outcomes with clarity and confidence.
Bella was founded by Harvard Business School professor Josh Lerner to address the unique needs of the private capital industry. Alongside its consulting and advisory work, over the years Bella was increasingly tasked with bespoke quantitative analyses drawing on methods originally developed in academia. That demand, together with Bella’s groundbreaking work on one of the world’s first private equity-backed collateralized fund obligations designed for retail investors, made it clear that private market investors across the spectrum could benefit from new ways of modeling, visualizing, and interpreting complex data to answer the industry’s most pressing questions. Bella Analytics was established to realize this vision.
Building on methods developed and tested in real-world engagements with the world’s leading institutional investors, we created the platform as a comprehensive, yet constantly evolving, front end for these sophisticated modeling frameworks. Our approach has been published in academic literature and is integrated into the required curriculum for the CAIA Association. Today, Bella Analytics is used by leading funds-of-funds, sovereign wealth funds, government-affiliated investment organizations, and asset managers offering structured products around the world. With each engagement we continue to refine our models (backtesting across new data sources, adding features, and integrating with existing platforms), so what began as bespoke analysis keeps evolving as a modern platform that blends academic rigor with practical experience.
